LinkedIn voice messages can be up to one minute. Free members can add a personal note to up to three connection requests a month, with up to 200 characters each, while Premium members can personalize every invitation. InMail allows a 200 character subject and a 1,900 character body, and you can edit or delete a sent message within 60 minutes. LinkedIn doesn't publish a weekly invitation limit; around 100 a week is the commonly reported figure.

What the limits mean in practice
- On a free account, save your three personal notes for people you really want. Most people accept a blank invitation, and you can send your note as a message once you're connected.
- After they accept, a short voice note is one of the few things that stands out, and it doesn't count against any invitation limit.
- Keep messages far shorter than the limits. A few lines get read; long blocks of text get skipped.
- If LinkedIn restricts your invitations, stop sending for the week and focus on messaging the people already in your network.
